You and your team have worked through months of writing, editing, proofreading, and layout, but there’s just one more item before you go to press: the index—an important marketing tool.
Lydia Jason is a generalist with a keen sense of curiosity. She loves learning. She has earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Humanities (the study of art, history, music, literature, philosophy, religion, and language) and has worked as a museum administrator and state-certified classroom teacher. All her life, she has absorbed information and then shared it with others in educational settings. She does the same thing as she creates each index. Every index is written to appeal to reviewers, general readers, and specialists alike.
Lydia grew up in southern California. She started her career at the J. Paul Getty museum in Malibu. She has created countless exhibitions and curriculum units, and delved into many special interests. In 2012, she left the classroom and the museum world to focus on book indexing services. She specializes in titles related to education, fine art, genealogy, humanities, nonprofits, real estate, and religion. She is an active member of the American Society for Indexing.
Recent clients have included the Art Institute of Chicago, Cony Island Press, Christian Institute on Disability, Brill Hess & De Graaf, Radiant Books, Lake Claremont Press, Fresh Awakenings, synergy Books, St. Louis Art Museum, Stanford University, The Appraisal Foundation, and Pro Arte Books.
When she’s not at her computer working on an indexing project, you may find her exploring scenic byways on her motorcycle or diving ocean reefs with a tank of air strapped to her back.
